Erin Grandchamp

My name is Erin Grandchamp.  I live in North Branch, Michigan. Which is
located near Lapeer Michigan.
I have lived here with my mom for about eight years. Some of my activities
are a wide spread variety.  As far as school, I have played soccer for three
years and I am currently running track.   I have to say, I really like
track, even though it gets really busy, because it is always the same time
as the reining season starts. Outside
of school, I usually go camping and kayaking every summer at least once.   I
think racing go karts should be a sport. I'm pretty sure I could do well in
that. I use to do team penning with my mom, but decided chasing
cows isn't for me.  I got a chance to do reining when I meet Karen Prose,
who use to own Ed. She offered a chance to ride and show him. Thats when I
decided I really like this sport.  So we bought Ed in the fall, three years
ago. Up until then I had never even showed a horse.

It wasn't long and I knew I needed help.  So my mom called a trainer, who
happened to be Gene Munger.  I cant say enough about everything he taught
me. To this day, I still remember most of it. What I like best about
reining, is seeing so much talent in horses and riders. My plans for the
year are to show at congress, and buy a young horse to continue an even
better show career. My most memorable experience is the very first year I
showed in the MRHA/NRHA association, I qualified for Nationals in Virginia.
And I cant thank my mom enough for making sure I was there. While we were
there we bought my first official reining saddle. But when all the dust
settles after another year, I have my mom to thank, because she truly is the
best.  THANKS MOM.
