COMMITTEE REPORTS

Sponsorship:  Sharon reported she is working with a few saddle sponsors to have saddles to award for the 2007 season.  She has proposed for the board to consider a saddle award to the highest scoring rider at the Liberty Derby and the Caywood Futurity.  Clayton's Finest Western Tack has agreed to sell MRHA six pairs of boots and give MRHA six pairs of boots to be used at the Derby and Futurity for Reserve Champions.  Since these ideas were presented for consideration, no motion made at this time to fund this proposal.  The committee presented a list of fund-raising ideas.  The use of a sign-up sheet for class sponsors will be encouraged at all shows.  This has the potential to raise $3,250.

Newsletter & Web site:  The committee will continue to work on timely release of printed information.  Web site will continue to be administered by Dan Brocklehurst who will be assisted by Cindy Katona.

Banquet & Awards:  All is in place for this year's banquet.  The committee has started plans for next year's banquet.

Rules &Bylaws:  Nothing to report at this time.

Youth Report:  The youth plan to meet at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, at the Double JJ.

Affiliate:  Connie Ludwig presented the NRHA official rule changes.  She emphasized the following changes to this program:  United States now divided into 7 regions, the top 10 riders from each affiliate will be invited to ride at affiliate finals, and designation must be made if a rider rides for more than one affiliate or if the affiliate is different from previous year's designation.  Site for finals has not been determined.  In order to have MRHA rules read the same as NRHA rules, Connie made a motion that the phrase Eastern Region be changed to North Eastern Region and the designation procedure match the wording of the NRHA rule.  Second by Marilyn Cargill.  Motion carried.

MRHA Shows:  Showbills presented and corrected as necessary.

MBBO:  So far the bidding has resulted in $4,800 for the stallion auction.  With the silent auction items, the committee hopes to reach its goad of $5000.  Stallions not sold will remain available until March 1, 2007.  The MBBO committee will have the MBBO fund host the post derby/futurity parties.

Disciplinary Action:  No report at this time.
