Hi

I know how much you all like hearing good news about Ron and I’ve been running into some of ya and I’ve been getting told that I haven’t sent an e-mail in a while and you have been wondering how he is doing.  Update:  He is showing again (a little bit).  Today he showed my horse and won the $500 Novice Horse Open!!  A lot of people have commented on how good he looks cuz he’s gained a few pounds.  Well, today Sylvia and I weren’t sure we were going to get his chaps zipped!  She asked him if he was going to be able to move his legs.  He said I don’t know, let me get on and see.  He showed in his chaps.  Well there ya have it, my update and brag all rolled up in one.

Until next time,

Terri Bayless

Hi everyone,

Usually I’m e-mailing, letting you know Ron is in the hospital or has come home.  Many of you have asked to be kept up to date.  I have a little happy update today.

Yesterday Ron came out to the barn and taught my lesson.  I’d say he was feeling pretty good as much as he yelled at me! He is currently off the chemo because it was giving him to many bad side effects.  Come Mid December they are going to start him on a new chemo, (I didn’t know there was more than one).  His protein levels in his blood are down from 6000 to 2100 with 1500 being normal, I don’t know exactly what that means, but it’s good.  He is feeling pretty good other than his ankles are still very swollen as a result of a drug he is taking.

If you need his address for x-mas cards it is:

Ron Kohlhoff

19041 Gore Orphanage Road

Wakeman, Ohio  44889

So happy I could send some happy news,

Terri Bayless

RON KOHLHOFF

Ron Kohlhoff, a lifelong horse trainer located in Wakeman, Ohio has been diagnosed and is undergoing treatment for Multple Myleoma, a type of Leukemia.  Ron has a long history as a reining, dressage and cutting horse trainer and competitor.  He also spent several years employed by Bob Evans of the Hidden Valley Ranch.  He and his wife, Sylvia, also a horse trainer, are both self employed as owners and operators of Kohlhoff Performance Horses.  The portion of expenses for chemotherapy and prescriptions not covered by insurance are creating a financial burden for the family.  Today I help spread the word of the efforts of many to help one of our own.  Anything you can do, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.

Currently there are 7 local options to help Ron and his family and we are working on an auction for congress, a saddle raffle and a wings and suds night.
